Login.Point makes the creation of network accounts and password resets a self-service process.
However you may need to create accounts automatically, for instance if every student needs to be provided with a network account, or if you need to advise students in advance of their username and password.
WinBatch Autocreate for Login.Point is a useful utility that enables you to create accounts automatically for every new enrolment in the Student Records system. The Login.Point engine creates the accounts with the same features that ID card users have, e.g. checks against the student record, random passwords, multiple systems and so on. WinBatch Autocreate is controlled through a management client that runs on any Microsoft WindowsT PC, together with a processing engine that is added to your existing Login.Point server. A selectable log file details the usernames and passwords that have been created, which you can mailmerge into form letters.
The Account Creation ProcessThe Login.Point system talks to your network and your MIS system. To automatically create accounts Login.Point will poll the student record system periodically, usually every 15 minutes. Login.Point will identify any new enrolments within the student record system and automatically create accounts in the same way as cardbased creation. Account details are then passed to a time and date stamped text file, which you can then mail-merge into letters, emails, SMS notifications etc. |
