Login.Point makes the creation of network accounts and password resets a self-service process. However, there are times when you need to bulk create a number of accounts, perhaps for a short course, or late intake of students. WinBatch for Login.Point is a useful utility that enables you to create accounts from a list of student ID numbers contained in a test file.

The Login.Point engine then processes the list, so that your accounts are created with the same features that ID card users have, e.g. checks against the student record, random passwords, multiple systems and so on. WinBatch for Login.Point is controlled through a Management Client that runs on any Microsoft® PC, together with a processing engine that is added to your existing Login.Point server. A selectable log file details the usernames and passwords that have been created, which you can mail-merge into form letters.

WinBatch at a Glance

  1. Enables the bulk creation of accounts from a text file
  2. Checks that student is valid against the MIS System
  3. Creates account in the same way as card-based creation

How WinBatch Works

The Login.Point system talks to your network and your MIS system. To create a batch of accounts, simply create a list of student ID numbers in a text file. Using the Management Console application on your PC, simply select your text file and press 'Send File'.

When you submit it, the job is passed to your Login.Point server and queued for processing. When completed the log file can be downloaded to your PC so that you can notify students of their usernames and passwords. Accounts created by WinBatch can be reset by the student at a Login.Point terminal using their ID card.
