Login.Point - self-service account creation and password resets
Creating accounts for all your new students each september can be a huge administrative task. With VLE's and email accounts the number of systems involved can be considerable. The logistics of supplying a username and password to each student can be quite daunting, and many colleges resort to bulk account creation or the use of generic accounts. Once term has started there is often a queue at the helpdesk for people who have forgotten their passwords.
Login.Point is designed to remove all of the headaches by making account creation and password resets an entirely self service process.
About How Login.Point worksThe Login.Point system talks to your network and your MIS system. To create an account the student simply swipes their ID card at the Login.Point 'till'. The system checks to see that they are a valid student, and based on their course code (or other information that you have specified) accounts are created on each system that the student needs access to. In around seven seconds a ticket is printed at the till and the student can log in with those credentials straight away. Password resets are simple as well. Simply swipe the card and your passwords are reset on all the systems you are allowed to access. Login.Point works with most network operating systems, MIS systems and uses the student's existing id cards. ![]() |
